How this tool works
Target value = portfolio total × target %. Adjustment = target value − current value.
A worked example
A 1,000 portfolio with 700 BTC and 300 ETH needs a 100 sale of BTC and 100 purchase of ETH to reach a 60/40 target.
Assumptions & limits
Targets must sum to 100%. Rebalances at a fixed portfolio total with no added cash. Excludes fees, taxes and price movement. These targets are your inputs, not recommendations.

Portfolio allocation is the share of total portfolio value assigned to each asset. Rebalancing compares current values with chosen target percentages and calculates the difference. This tool keeps the portfolio total fixed, so planned purchases are funded by planned sales rather than new deposits.
How to use this tool
- Add each holding and its current value in one consistent quote currency. Use value, not token quantity.
- Enter your chosen target percentage for each holding. All targets must total 100%.
- Calculate current weights, target values and adjustment amounts. Positive adjustments indicate buys; negative adjustments indicate sells.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a crypto portfolio weight?
Divide an asset’s current value by the total portfolio value and multiply by 100. For example, a holding worth 700 in a portfolio worth 1,000 has a 70% weight.
How is the required rebalance calculated?
Multiply total portfolio value by each target percentage, then subtract that asset’s current value. A 60% target in a 1,000 portfolio gives a target value of 600. If the current value is 700, the adjustment is a sale of 100.
Does the tool recommend a portfolio allocation?
No. You supply the assets and target percentages. It does not assess suitability or account for fees, taxes, minimum order sizes or price changes between trades.
