Circle is planning a broader push into emerging and developing markets as demand for digital-dollar payments grows, according to October 16 reporting on CEO Jeremy Allaire’s Reuters interview.
Crypto.news reports that the proposed expansion covers approximately 40 markets, with demand discussed across Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. This describes expansion plans, not confirmation that every market is already served.
Payments beyond exchange trading
Circle also published its own USDC economics update on October 16. The company says it minted and redeemed more than $315 billion of USDC during the first half of 2026.
That company-reported activity provides context for its payments ambitions. Transaction volume should not be confused with circulating supply, unique users, or revenue.
